Asoka Mission organized a Blood Donation Camp

Asoka Mission organized a Blood Donation camp in association with the Ladakh Students Welfare Society Delhi on Saturday, 21 February 2015 in the premises of the Asoka Mission, Old MG Road, Mehrauli, New Delhi – 110030. More than 40 Ladakhi students from Delhi University attended the camp and donated blood on the occasion for the blood bank of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). The blood donation camp is an initiative of the Asoka Mission Medicare Initiative (AMMCI) which regularly organizes medical camps in Ladakh and other Himalayan regions with the help of senior doctors of AIIMS. It will next be organizing a medical camp for the poor and needy in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh in April 2015.

Dr. C.S Yadav entered the Limca Book of Records

Dr. C.S Yadav, Senior Orthopaedic Specialist from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi entered the Limca Book of Records for conducting knee and hip transplant surgeries in Leh, Ladakh, India. Dr. Yadav performed these surgeries in the last two years, at medical camps situated at an altitude of 3600 metres above sea level, thus ensuring a place for himself in the record books.

These medical camps are organized annually by the Delhi-based Asoka Mission, which is a founding member of the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC).
